The Pause: 3 Breaths to Find Peace



I've been feeling overly busy and quite frazzled lately. This simple breathing exercise was conceived after breaking my favorite pasta bowl when I was moving too quickly around the kitchen trying to simultaneously unload groceries and empty the dishwasher.

Taking the 18.8 seconds (I timed it) to pause and breathe is reminding me that I have the power to change this crazy-cycle of constantly doing something that I find myself in far too often.

Read the steps below so you know the simple directions.

Stop whatever you are doing and try it. If it works for you, repeat anytime you feel overwhelmed. You can even do it while driving by skipping step one.

THE PAUSE

1. Close your eyes

2. Be still

3. Breathe in for a count of 3 , pause, as you exhale for a count of 3 think "Father"

4. Breathe in for a count of 3, pause, as you exhale for a count of 3 think "Savior"

5. Breathe in for a count of 3, pause, as you exhale for a count of 3 think "Spirit"

6. Open your eyes and soak in the peace of The Pause

Note: If the words I suggested bring something besides peace to you, do the breathing exercise without them. God loves you, and He will wait for you to find Him in your time.
